weekend warrior - brown town

I'm not normally one for going all colour colour matchy matchy on you, certainly not lately with so many collections featuring lots of bright colour being placed seemingly haphazardly next to one another. One thing I have noticed though, is that while a lot of this colour we're seeing everywhere is an antidote to the neutral tones that took over for what seemed like years, this doesn't necessarily mean neutrals are gone for good.

There were plenty of RAFW 11/12 designs featuring soft pinks, pale greys, muted caramels and off whites. LIFEwithBIRD's collection below is a perfect example.

Celebrities also are also finding it difficult to let go, as you can see here with the gorgeous Dianne Kruger wearing a simply divine Ellie Saab creation from their Fall 2011 collection.

So, this weekend, you can rest assured that your beloved neutral favourites are indeed still on-trend. For a bit of fun, why not throw in some unexpected colour via a set of drop earrings or other accessory.

weekend warrior - you can take me anywhere

Sometimes, the wardrobe choices we make when we first pry ourselves out of bed can influence the kind of day that will follow. For example; I have noticed that when the underwear gods align and I have a matching set to wear, a great day usually follows. Similarly, pencils skirts and pussy-bow blouses signal a day at the office and at the other end of the spectrum baggy tracksuits and the boyfriend's band tee shirts usually points to poor physical or mental health. Today's weekend outfit inspiration is the type that I'd put on and excitedly await the adventures to come. Whether it be a picnic with your loved one, lunch with your girlfriends or afternoon tea with your nan, this will take you there and then some. I know I'll be making the most of the last of the cooler weather the only way I know how - by rocking some sumptuously soft knits while I still can.

weekend warrior - don't sing the blues

Stay stylishly warm and comfortable this weekend with a printed sweater. A fully buttoned shirt peeking from beneath will give you added hipster cred, throw in some modern jewellery and hot to trot ankle booties and you'll be looking as sweet as sugar.

weekend warrior - bright winter accessories

Dressing for the weekend sees comfort mixing with your true style personality. This weekend, why not try mixing some lush knits with a maxi skirt and some fun bright accessories? I'm personally loving this striped maxi from General Pants which is totally workable right now and will continue to be wonderfully versatile right through to summer.
