I don't know about you, but closing down sales have always caused some inner conflict for this fashion lover. On one hand it's a chance to get our paws on some incredible percentage off savings, but on the other, it means  we have to wave goodbye to what could be our favourite boutique down the road, or in this case, a great Australian online retailer.
It's The New Black have announced final reductions in their closing down sale. Once stocking brands such as 7 For All Mankind, Citizens Of Humanity, Ginger & Smart and White Suede they have been a destination for me for quite some time. But alas, it is to be no more. I'm loving this nautical take on the wedged espadrille, a style that is set to take over this Summer. Pair with a floaty white dress and wide brimmed hat for days at the beach. 

Protea $120

This fashion forward sandal has so much going for it, not least of all it's towering combination of a 12cm heel and 6cm platform and is perfect for a night on the tiles. Expect to see more of this flat footed style around in seasons to come.

Sling $140

It's no surprise where this disco inspired baby got it's name. Made from luscious patent leather it's ideal for an overall look that's not for the faint-hearted. Think: sun-kissed pins, micro minis and plenty of head turning.

Gienna $150

What we have here is my idea of the perfect Summer work sandal. The wooden heel is perfect for a daytime look and the reasonably low rise heel means you won't break your back while racing for your train home. Available in taupe (pictured) and tan, it's sure to go with everything.

Colada $180

One of my favourite footwear trends from this past Autumn/Winter was the huge shoe boot trend and, clearly, I wasn't the only one. Everyone is loving some shoebootie action (once I say this word once, I can't stop! shoebootie, shoebootie, shoebootie!) and it seems like we'll be getting our fix right through Summer with an explosion of peep toe, sling back varieties hitting store shelves and magazine pages in the last few weeks. The offering here from Zu is a fabulous example, I'm digging the contrasting tan shades.

Those cool cats at the Freez site have always had an awe inspiring range of choices within their sale section, but they have really outdone themselves this time. They have just added over 150 items to their new percentage off clearance section. Some items have been discounted by up to 78%!! Not familiar with Freez? Oh my, what are we going to do with you?! It's all about the LWD (little white dress) this season, so get on board with this casual style. Made from delightful viscose and featuring a wide scooped neckline, a triangle split in the back and ruched detailing on the sleeves, pair with jewelled metallic sandals for an ethereal look.

 I've featured this style in a few different outfit collections, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that I think highly of this wild incarnation of the ballet flat. These babies have the perfect shape and will be fabulous when paired with a solid colour outfit (like black, red, or berry shades) so they can shine like the star they are.

 Speaking of flowing, oversized shirts, here we have a perfectly gorgeous example that is ideal for  trans-seasonal weather. I'm loving this rich port wine colour and there's a great texture to this fabric too. Hate the shapeless look? Undo a few of the lower buttons, tie the shirt up into a bow and voila! you have shape again.

Freez Lace Edge Dress

The lace trend was already big through Winter and it's set to get bigger as the months get warmer. I really love the femininity that lace can bring to a piece and this black sun dress is no exception. sale alert - peep toe shoes, it's Melbourne's turn

You may remember my post from earlier in the month letting all the Sydney shoe lovers know about the exciting warehouse sale PeepToe Shoes had announced. Well, now it's Melbourne's turn! From Friday 26th through to Sunday 28th of August, PeepToe Shoes are taking over Port Melbourne Town Hall and are calling it their "biggest warehouse sale" yet.
